The Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale returns on October 22!

Browse through more than 500,000 items for sale. Most of the items will range in price from $0.25 to $5. On the fifth and final day of the sale, all items will be $0.10.

Check out the Collectors Corner, which includes first edition books, signed works, and a large selection of Florida-related materials. Some items may be priced well over $100! The Collectors Corner is only open for the first four days of the event.

All Things Teen

TeenTober is a month-long celebration of all things teen! For the entire month of October, we'll celebrate all of the amazing things teens can enjoy with the library. From book recommendations to programs to free goodies, tune in to our website and social media pages throughout the month to check out what's in store.

There is still time to submit art to the Fall Teen Art Show! Submissions are open until Friday, Oct. 14. All entrants will need to fill out an online Entry Form and take their physical artwork to any of Alachua County's 12 library branches.

All artwork will be on display to the public at the Headquarters Library in downtown Gainesville on Oct. 22 - 23. Winners will be announced via the library’s website on Sunday, Oct. 23.

For Everyone, Reading Is

From the youngest Padawan to the wisest Jedi Master, reading is for everyone! Celebrate Star Wars Reads Month all October long with great reads, and there’s no need to travel to Coruscant to find stories from the Jedi Archives.

Young Jedi are invited to join us every Tuesday in October at 3:30 p.m. at Headquarters Library for Jedi Academy. We’ll explore a galaxy far, far away with crafts, stories, and activities that are out of this world. See our events calendar for more information.
