Free, Live, Online Chess Tutors
Visit Brainfuse, scroll down the “Expert Help” column to the last entry, “Featured Service.” Click the yellow star to access Chess Tutoring.

Expert chess tutors are available Monday through Thursday from 3-9PM. Learn chess strategies and improve your cognitive thinking with an expert chess coach. Tutors have certifiable qualifications such as high Elo ratings (2000+), chess coaching experience and current or previous titles (for example, expert/candidate master).

Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories
March 21, 4-7PM, NSU-Alvin Sherman Library
In celebration of Women’s History Month, NSU-Alvin Sherman Library, NSU's Department of Communication, Media, and the Arts and Broward County Libraries are presenting an interactive panel session with the women of NSU Student Media. Moderated by Director of Student Media Chris Delboni, the panel event will be introduced by Broward County Library Director Allison Grubbs and will highlight three outstanding young women from NSU’s Student Media.

Applications for Teen Internships Due March 17
We’re offering Teen Leadership Internships this summer at six library locations. The internships are open to local high school students and run from June 20 to August 4, 2023. Teens can gain work experience, explore various career paths, make professional contacts, develop essential leadership and life skills and receive a $650 stipend after completion of the program.

Submit an application and an original 200-500 word essay by March 17, 2023.

No More Late Fines

Broward County Library no longer assesses any late fines for library books, DVDs and other materials returned after the due date. All existing late fines on cardholder accounts have been removed. Materials still have a due date and cardholders will be charged for lost or damaged items. Items are considered lost when they are 35 days past the due date.
