City Of Homestead Parks Master Plan Workshop Scheduled For December 1st

From: City Of Homestead
December 1, 2022

The City of Homestead is inviting residents to attend the Park’s Master Plan community workshop on Thursday, December 1st at 5:30pm located at City Hall 3rd floor conference room.  Residents can also participate virtually through WebEx by following the event link at www.cityofhomestead.com/calendar.  The meeting will present the findings from the first round of public engagement and consultant studies of existing parks and accompanying recommendations. Residents are encouraged to attend to express their wants and needs for the future of Homestead’s parks as the City of Homestead is preparing to move on to the next round, which includes conceptual improvements for the park system.

A Parks Master Plan is a document that provides an inclusive framework for orderly and consistent planning; acquisition; development; and administration of the parks and recreation resources, programs, and facilities. It identifies the recreational needs in the community and determines an overall vision for parks today and tomorrow. The vision will serve as a long-term plan to provide guidance for park development to Mayor and Council.

City officials are encouraging residents to make their voices heard on what facilities, programs, and amenities are needed in our parks by attending the community event. For more information on the Parks Master Plan contact Parks and Recreation at 305-224-4570.
