Join fellow fans to discuss all things geek on Wednesday, October 5! Share your love for fandom by discussing, debating, and nerding out about your favorite movies, TV shows, comics, and more in a friendly environment. This month, we will discuss all things gothic. We’ll talk horror classics, why we love the macabre, and what “gothic” means today. No registration required.
Now Hiring: Librarian – Promotional Content
Join our team! We're seeking an enthusiastic, motivated content creator to join our Adult Services Department. This position will provide reference and reader’s advisory for the general public as well as support library initiatives by creating content for a variety of print and digital platforms, ensuring style consistency across library departments and communications, and managing the library’s social media accounts.
What's Your Story? Record to Remember
On October 12, learn how to use our audio equipment to record your story and share your culture during Hispanic Heritage Month 2022! You may also submit your recording to be featured in a “Voices from the Stacks” library podcast episode! Ages 15 and up. Registration is required.
Blockbusters You Missed – Downton Abbey: A New Era
Did you miss a blockbuster movie on the big screen? Each month, get a second chance at seeing recent hit movies – or see them again! This month, enjoy Downton Abbey: A New Era on Saturday, October 1 in the auditorium here at the library. No registration required.
Did You Know?
Starting October 1, we will have Grab & Go Art Kits to make Halloween Keychains — to impress all the boos and ghouls! Each kit contains ribbons, a keychain clasp, bells, and spooky adornments. Quantities are limited, and kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the first-floor customer service desk.

NaNoWriMo Prep Workshop

Get ready for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) with our Pre-NaNoWriMo workshops hosted by students and faculty from Florida Atlantic University. These monthly sessions are dedicated to preparing writers to write a novel this November.

Latin Dance Lessons – Kids edition
Sunday, October 2| 2:00 – 2:30 PM & 2:30 – 3:00 PM | In Person | Kids Programming Space
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, learn to dance salsa and merengue! An instructor from Rhythms Dance Studios will teach the basics of these Latin dances, best known in Caribbean countries like Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic. Kids K-5 are welcome to join, two sessions will be provided.
