Miami-Dade Parks advises: Plan ahead before heading to Miami-Dade marinas, beaches and atoll pools for the Memorial Day Weekend

MIAMI ( May 26, 2022 ) —

Miami-Dade Parks wants to remind and encourage everyone to plan ahead of their visit to Miami-Dade County marinas, Crandon Park and Haulover Park beaches (limited due to construction), and atoll pools at Matheson Hammock and Homestead Bayfront Park. The Memorial Day Weekend is expected to bring a large number of visitors, a high traffic volume, and early closures for boat ramps and beach parking lots.

Please call ahead for the most up-to-date information, and remember:

-Glass and polystyrene (foam) containers are not allowed.

-Dogs are only allowed in designated areas at Haulover Park (call for more information).

-Floating devices are not allowed in swimming areas.

-Picnic shelters must be reserved in advance on a first-come, first-served basis.

For expedited parking fee payment, download the Pay-by-Phone app on your smart phone, and enter the appropriate zone # upon arrival. Cash (exact change) and credit card payments are accepted on-site via pay machines but expect long lines.

For up-to-date information on boat ramp closures sign-up to receive text alerts by texting “Join MDSMS” to 34292. You will need to complete registration by visiting www.miamidade.gov and typing “emergency alerts” in the search box at the top of the page.
