Palm Harbor Library Newsletter - October 2022

Hello  -

October is here and is full of treats! One thing we are VERY excited to share with you is that our two (yes... TWO!) 24-hour Auto-Lend Libraries are up and running!

At the library, we have one located outside our front doors where you can take out books, children's books, and Blu-rays. Items from this location's machine can be returned at the front desk or the drive-through where we also have drop boxes for 24-hour returning. Palm Harbor Parks & Recreation hosts our second Auto-Lend Library. Palm Harbor Parks & Recreation's address is 1500 16th Street, Palm Harbor, FL 34683. The Lending Library is located outside under the large sign to the left of the parking lot, facing 16th street. In this location, you can take out DVDs, Blu-rays, and various video games that you can return to the same machine. Both machines require you to use your library card and are free to use! We are here for any questions you may have.

See our, "How To" videos here on our Youtube Channel!

Check out our FULL calendar of events here!

*The library will be closing early at 3 PM on Saturday, October 8th to prepare for the Magical Evening. We will also be closed on Monday, October 10th to accommodate staff training.*

Mystery Science Film Club: showcases and discusses movies that are generally considered low-quality, especially dated, or sometimes just plain weird! This month, join us for a spooky Halloween treat as we watch a movie brave enough to ask: Can anyone make a horror movie? Does a horror movie need a budget? And if you met a guy who was a satyr, would you say anything about it? Registration here! (18+ only)

Pizza and a Movie: Reserve your space for the return of our monthly pizza and a movie! This month's movie is Journey to the Center of the Earth with James Mason, 1959. Register here.

Costume Swap: Throughout the month of October, bring new or clean, gently used, infant - teen size costumes, to the Children's Room desk to swap for a different one. Don't have one to swap? Make a $5 per costume cash donation to the Youth Services Department. Donations benefit children’s programming at the Palm Harbor Library.
Costumes subject to staff approval. Limit 1 costume per child.

Trick or Treat: Happy Halloween! Visit the Children’s Room and say those special “trick or treat” words. Our Youth Services staff will be in costume to greet you and treat you!
