I love coming here to watch the wildlife as I walk around, taking pictures. It's incredibly peaceful and beautiful--even during the summer. There's plenty of parking and a visitor's center with lots to see. They have events for the whole family all month long. Whether you're a local or visiting the area, it's worth checking out.

Great place for a walk in the Florida wetlands in the middle of a residential area. You walk on a wood boardwalk above a lake where you will see all sorts of birds, turtles, alligators, raccoons,... The place is usually quiet, no running, no bicycling on the boardwalk. Lots of photographers bringing their largest zoom to try to catch the shot that will get on the cover of Nature magazine. The large walk takes about an hour at a very moderate pace.

Lots of parking. Check ahead of time if you want to visit the Nature Center as its hours and days are limited. It's fun to see the baby gators and turtles in the center. Expect to see turtles, birds, an occasional iguana and there is one really huge gator who likes to sun and is pretty impressive. ( go to the left dock to start your walk and it's not far to his favorite spot from that direction ) it's a very nice walk and has a good breeze so not bad on even very hot days.
