Osceola County Fair
1911 Kissimmee Valley Lane
321-697-3050

History:

It all started informally in the early 1940’s on the grounds of the Kissimmee Livestock Market.  Whether or not it started out to be, it became Kissimmee Valley Range Cattle Show.It was interrupted during the war years, but came alive for good in 1944.  For many years it was simply known as the Kissimmee Valley Livestock Show; however, in 1951 the name and scope changed to the Kissimmee Valley Livestock Show and Fair Association.  Twenty of the county’s leading citizens set their signatures to the articles of incorporation and Frank Poffenbaugh became its first president.  The purpose of this organization is to foster the development of education, commerce, industry and agriculture in Osceola County and the Kissimmee Valley area, and to hold and foster fairs, livestock shows, and sales of purebred livestock for stock breeders, 4-H club members or Future Farmers of America organization members, and to provide a site therefore, including physical buildings, equipment and such other items as may be necessary for such events in Osceola County, Florida.
