ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Commercial Horticulture program for October 2022. This program is being offered by Dr. Tatiana Sanchez, Commercial Horticulture Agent.

Pest Management Through Anaerobic Soil Disinfestation (ASD) in Organic Agriculture - October 13, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. This is a Zoom webinar.

Anaerobic soil disinfestation is an environmentally friendly method to disinfest the soil and is a non-chemical alternative for disease and weed control. This webinar will explain how this method of soil disinfestation has worked in the southeast, its challenges and opportunities in organic agriculture, and how you can adopt it as a tool in your integrated pest management strategy. Speakers include faculty from the University of Florida, Clemson University, and the private industry. 

There is no need to install additional software to participate in this event. Participants can join directly from their preferred browser or through the Teams app (optional).

There is no registration fee, but participants must register online.
