The City of Deltona invites the public to its 2022 Hurricane Preparedness Seminar, on Tuesday May 24th.  The Seminar will take place in the City Hall Commission Chambers, and doors open at 7:00pm, with the Seminar starting at 7:30pm.  The speakers for the Seminar include Chief Meteorologist Bryan Karrick with Spectrum News 13, and representatives from the City’s Building Department, Deltona Fire and the Volusia County Sheriff.

Mr. Karrick has more than 17 years’ experience with weather forecasting.  He will address how hurricanes and other severe weather systems are formed, and how residents in central Florida should prepare.  Seminar attendees will also learn how to protect their property—houses, sheds, utility services, and more—and get the critical information needed in the aftermath of the storm, concerning the repair of damaged property.

Additionally, a Hurricane Survival Kit filled with emergency care articles will be on display.  The kit will show residents what items are recommended to have on hand, in the aftermath of severe weather.

The Commission Chambers is located at Deltona City Hall, at 2345 Providence Boulevard.
