The City's Finance Department has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the current fiscal period. This award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting, and North Port has achieved it 16 years in a row.
The award reflects the commitment of the City and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. The GFOA provides best practices, professional development, resources, and practical research for its members in government finance.
“Achieving this recognition for 16 years running is a reflection of the attention to detail and commitment to excellence displayed by the Finance team every day,” Finance Director Kimberly Williams said. “I’m proud of the team and all their contributions to receiving this honor.”
