Delray Beach Public Library The Next Chapter - May 24, 2022

Dear Library Friend,

We had such a wonderful time at the Golf Tournament. The venue was breathtaking, and the golfers were so much fun. Find out who won below and more details of the event.

We are extending our Wash and Read service to the third Wednesday of each month at 10 am. We will be washing clothes dropped off by the Shower Truck. The regular Wash and Read Service will also start at 10 am for people who want to wash their own clothes.  More people are using this service and we are committed to helping them. This service helps some of the most vulnerable individuals and families make ends meet.

We have installed monitors in our two smallest study rooms. This allows people to network online, take webinars, and interview online using a larger projection screen than personal computers. We purchased these monitors with CRA funds as part of our annual funding agreement to support workforce development. If you are interested in booking a free study room, just call the reference desk 561-266-0196.

This Thursday, May 26 at 2pm we will be holding “Introduction to Laser Cutting.”  Come and see the Library’s new Glowforge cutter in action. Try your hand at making something cool. We are so appreciative of the funding we received from the Kimmel Family Foundation to purchase this cutting-edge technology.
Please REGISTER HERE.

We continue with our strategic planning process. To date, 432  people have filled out the survey. Please consider doing this HERE. You have until this Friday, May 27 to fill out the survey. If you are bursting with ideas and want to share them directly with the consultants, you are welcome to email them at: RTL@ReThinkingLibraries.org

The Library is closed Monday, May 30 for Memorial Day. We will not be sending out a newsletter next week.

Stay well and happy reading!
