Florida Friendly Landscaping Code Webinar

January 17, 2024

11 a.m.

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Environmental Protection Department, UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County, and the Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program invite Homeowner Association (HOA), Management Company representatives and homeowners that live in communities with HOAs to a live webinar on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Attendees learn about the Alachua County HOA Florida Friendly Landscaping code, the nine principles of Florida-FriendlyLandscapingTM and strategies for working together to install Florida-Friendly landscapes.

Alachua County adopted a Homeowner Association Florida-Friendly LandscapingTM code in April 2019 to encourage resilient landscapes that can thrive without additional inputs such as irrigation and fertilizer/pesticide. Under this new section of the water quality code, HOAs may not prohibit the implementation of Florida-Friendly LandscapingTM, and new covenants may not require the installation of permanent irrigation systems.

This webinar is approved for 1 CEU through the Department of Business and Professional Regulations for Landscape Architects and Community Association Managers, FNGLA, & FFLCP (Course Number DBPR #9631813).

Register for the workshop online.
