St. Cloud, FL – A St. Cloud mother and her boyfriend face multiple charges, including Capital Sexual Battery, following an extensive investigation and arrest this week by the St. Cloud Police Department.

Mother Peaches Laws, 29, and boyfriend Jose Tolentino, 40, were investigated after caseworkers with the Department of Children and Families provided our Criminal Investigations Unit with allegations made by Laws’ 7-year-old daughter that not only had Tolentino been sexually assaulting the child for more than a year, but that Laws and other family members were aware of the crimes – but had done nothing to report them to law enforcement.

Based on the investigation, arrest warrants were obtained for Tolentino and Laws, as well as a search warrant for their home. Tolentino and Laws were taken into custody, and Tolentino was charged with violations of Florida State Statute 794.011 (2)(A), Sexual Battery/Perpetrator 18 years of age or older with a victim under 12 years of age, and Florida State Statute 784.085 Battery of child by throwing, tossing, projecting, or expelling certain fluids or materials. Laws was charged with violations of Florida State Statute 827.03 (2)(D) Child Neglect and Florida State Statute 914.22 (1)(E) Hinder, delay, or prevent the communication to a law enforcement officer. Tolentino and Laws have been transported to the Osceola County Jail. Tolentino is being held without bond, and Laws with a $25,000 bond.

The investigation into this case is still active and ongoing, and more charges are pending.
