East Stuart Adopt-A-Street clean-up this Saturday, January 28, beginning at 9 a.m.

Everyone will gather at the10th Street Community Center, 724 SE 10th Street, Stuart, to pick up clean-up supplies.

If you can't make this clean-up, here are the future East Stuart adopt-A-Street clean up dates: March 25, May 20, July 22, Sept. 23 and Nov. 18.

Come on out and help make a difference!

The next round of composting workshops is scheduled for Tuesday, January 31, 6-7 p.m. and Saturday, February 18, 10-11 a.m.

Meet the Next Creek District Sidewalk Mosaic Artist

The Creek District of Arts & Entertainment announced this week the artist who will be creating the next sidewalk mosaic to be installed in the Creek District, Erika Figueroa.

Erika's painting of a man in a rowboat was voted on by the public and she will soon be creating a beautiful mosaic that will be installed near Stuart Art Supply.

This year's Sailfish Sprint takes place on Saturday, March 24, 2023. 

You don't have to be a professional athlete or a runner to participate. Walk, walk/run, everyone is welcome. Choose between a 5K or 10K. There is also a Kid's YMCA  1/2-mile dash for the kiddos.

Check out the awesome medal finishers who cross the finish line of the 5K or 10K will receive! It's a beauty!

New Dedicated Tram Route Makes it EASY to Park-n-Ride, Enjoy Historic Downtown Stuart

Don't forget to take advantage of the City of Stuart's new tram route from Wells Fargo to Haney Circle. Parking is easy, fast and handy!

There is plenty of parking spots available at Wells Fargo, located at 301 SE Ocean Boulevard. A dedicated tram runs to Haney Circle from Wells Fargo and from Haney Circle back to Wells Fargo 7 days a week, hours: Mon-Fri, 5-7 p.m. | Sat. 10 a.m - 9 p.m. | Sun. 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Road Construction Notices

Full Closure of Poppleton Creek Entrance at SR-76/Kanner Highway Scheduled for Jan. 31 -Feb. 7 

FDOT planned watermain work at SR-76/Kanner Highway and Poppleton Creek Intersection is scheduled for Jan. 31 - Feb. 7, 2023. The entrance to Poppleton Creek at southbound SR-76/Kanner Highway will be closed around the clock through approximately 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31 through 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 7.  Contingency dates, if needed, are Tuesday, Feb. 7 through Feb. 15.

During construction, traffic will be rerouted as follows: 

-Northbound SR-76/Kanner Highway traffic will be detoured via SR-714/Monterey Road and SW Palm City Road to the Poppleton Creek entrance at SW Riverview Street

-Southbound SR-76/Kanner Highway traffic will be detoured via SR-5/US-1 and SW Palm City Road to the Poppleton Creek entrance at SW Riverview Street

-Southbound SR-5/US 1 traffic will be detoured via SW Palm City Road to the Poppleton Creek entrance at SW Riverview Street

- Northbound SR-5/US-1 traffic will be detoured via SW Palm City Road to the Poppleton Creek entrance at SW Riverview Street

Full Closure of Southbound Kanner Highway at U.S. 1 Scheduled Friday, Jan 27 - Monday, Jan 30.

FDOT has announced the full closure of SR-76/Kanner Highway at SR-5/US-1 to take place Jan. 27, 2023, through Monday, Jan. 30, 2023. If needed, contingency dates are Friday, Feb. 3 through Monday, Feb. 6.

Beginning at 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, southbound SR-76/Kanner Highway at the intersection of SR-5/US-1, will be closed around-the-clock through approximately 6:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, for watermain and roadway work.  

-Southbound SR-5/US-1 traffic will be detoured via SR-714/Monterey Road to SR-76/Kanner Highway

-Northbound SR-5/US-1 traffic will be detoured via SR-714/Monterey Road to SR-76/Kanner Highway

PROJECT IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDE:

-Milling and resurfacing the existing roadway; some minor widening will occur along northbound and southbound SR 76/Kanner Highway.

-Upgrade crosswalks and curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

-Install sidewalks, signage and pavement markings.

-Upgrade pedestrian lighting at two signalized intersections at SR 714/Monterey Road and SR 5/US 1.

-Upgrade or restore drainage pipes and replace sections of the City of Stuart’s watermain at various locations.
