JGMS is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization. We have been a group for over 50 years based in Jacksonville Our volunteers teach lapidary skills such as silversmithing, cabbing, faceting, wire wrapping, beading, lampwork, polymer clay and much more. We have recently purchased our first building in the Mandarin area and have set up many classrooms and a museum. Our volunteers teach for free. There is a nominal shop time fee plus materials as needed. We have field trips to collect rocks and specimens. We also have an outreach program where we go to the schools and show the children gems and minerals. The schools will now be able to come to our museum. Fees to join JGMS are $25 per year for individual and $40 for a 2 person family, $5 for each additional member under 18 within household. View more information at (www.jaxgemandmineral.org)
